Né le 28 Février 1933 à LE PALLET (Loire Atlantique)
C'est à partir des années 1950 que DABIN porte un intérêt à l'expressionnisme abstrait et à l'action Painting de l'Ecole de New-York.
Il devient le peintre du mouvement.
Ses compositions servent toujours cette idée du mouvement : diagonales conventionnelles ou lignes verticales légèrement obliques, lignes courbes rayonnant autour d'un axe central.
DABIN travaille vite, d'un seul jet. Il pratique la technique de la peinture à l'huile, L'acrylique n'est utilisée qu'accessoirement pour les fonds. Après des préparations méthodiques, le pinceau est souvent remplacé par la brosse le couteau ou la main. Oscillant entre abstraction et figuratif, ses peintures sont influencées par ses voyages sur les cinq continents.

In the nearly 50's he began to be intersting in the abstract expressionism and in the Action Painting of the School of New York.
He becomes the painter of this movement.
He works fast in one go.
He practises the technique of the oil paint. The acrylic is only used secondarily for the backgrounds. After methodical preparations, the paintbrush is often replaced by the brush, the knife or the hands.
Oscillating between abstraction and figurative art, his paints are influenced by his journeys on the five continents.
